Elegant pink tulip wedding bouquet

 The pink tulip matched the groom’s tie for this elegant wedding held at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont.  The wedding party were all thrilled with their flowers – the groom particularly loved his pink tulip and spray rose buttonhole.  I also heard rave reviews from all the guests.

Rob Reed from Lake Macquarie Photography www.lakemacquariephotography.com.au was the photographer for the day – I have had a peek preview and the photos look fabulous – I can thoroughly recommend him if you are looking for a great photographer at a reasonable price.

We are all really excited – have three photoshoots in the next week – two with Cosmo Bride and one with OK Magazine for a wedding special they have in the next few weeks – keep your eyes out. 

The shoots will feature roses in every hue of pink, purple and ivory.

Love doing the photoshoots as it gives us all a chance to show our floristry skills and it is also a great day at the shoot.

We created this beautiful bridal bouquet for a wedding held at Wylies Baths at Coogee, Sydney

The bride wore ivory and the bridesmaids wore black.  The bride wanted something pretty to complement the black dresses.  So we used pink tulips and roses to create a soft femine wedding bouquet.  It was a winner – the bride and her bridesmaids loved their bouquets.

Just received a big thank you from last week’s wedding – it was a lavendar flower themed garden wedding – the bride’s little sister organised her wedding flowers everything and we had great fun planning the event – there are such lovely lavendar coloured flowers around.

I particularly love the floral head piece that we did for the bride and flower girl – used ranunculas, roses, lavendar and dodda vine.  We all loved it!

I have FINALLY got around to putting together some photo’s from my wedding in July.  Ian and I had just such a lovely time, it was a wonderful day, and the flowers were just so beautiful.  Perfect.  They were exactly as I was hoping – or even better, especially my bouquet, I was totally in love with it!

Cosmopolitan Bride Wedding Flowers Photoshoot

Love in Rose Petals created for Cosmpolitan Bride

We have just finished a wedding shoot with Cosmpolitan Bride.  It was such an exciting day.  Four of our florists attended the shoot and made up the bouquets as the models got dressed.

The photos will be published in the summer edition of Cosmpolitan Bride – can’t wait to see them – and to share some behind the scenes photos.

Another win for Kavelle Flowers

Nikki, our junior florist from Thailand, came third in the Interflora TAFE cup today.

Nikki first came to our studio two years ago and begged me for an opportunity to work and learn in our studio. 

I am unbelievably proud of her as she has worked really hard to learn all there is about floristry – and her wiring is second to none.

Great stuff Nikki.

Melissa also competed and, although she didn’t win a place, I still think she is a winner to have had the courage to compete – it was her first competition and she was competing against students many years her senior.

I am very very proud of both of them.

Corporate Event: Cocktail party in Vaucluse, Sydney

My friend Greg Atkins from www.yourspecialevents.com.au and I staged a cocktail party in Vaucluse recently.
Greg did and I provided the flowers.

We used masses of electric blue delphinium in a huge silver urn.

This was complemented by single stems of delphinium in unique handblown glass vases.

The effect was superb – Greg and I stayed for the party afterwards and basked in the compliments of the guests!

This is one our favourite brides – but if I am honest, every bride is a favourite bride, we treasure all of them.
The bride wore a gown by Johanna Johensen – and her headpiece looked absolutely stunning.
The bride gave us some beautiful crystal rosary beads which were given to her Mum by her Mum’s sister when she became a nun. Mum wore them on her wedding day. And we wrapped the rosary beads round the bouquet handle
